Jochiwon Fire Station (Chief Lee Jin-ho) held a grand ceremony for the inauguration of male and female volunteer firefighters in Jeondong-myeon at the Haengbok Nurimteo on the 16th. Approximately 120 people, including Mayor Choi Min-ho, local city council members, firefighters, volunteer firefighters, and their families, attended the event to honor the dedication of the outgoing chiefs and congratulate the new chiefs.

The male and female volunteer firefighters, who have left office, have contributed greatly to building a safety net for the local community with a strong sense of mission and service spirit. Their dedicated activities have laid the foundation for raising safety awareness among local residents, and in recognition of their contributions, they were awarded a plaque of merit by Mayor Choi Min-ho.

At the event, the former and new captains exchanged flags of the volunteer fire brigade and recalled the spirit of volunteer service (serving for justice and contributing to the public good).

The newly appointed captains Kim Hyun-nak and Fujishiro Sachiko expressed their aspirations, saying, “In order to create a safe and trustworthy volunteer fire brigade, we will strengthen communication and harmony among members and do our best for the safety of the local community.” They also pledged their will to cooperate with firefighters to further secure the safety of Jeondong-myeon.

Mayor Choi Min-ho said, “The volunteer fire brigade is more than just an organization; it plays an important role in ensuring the safety of local residents,” and added, “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the outgoing captains who have led the volunteer fire brigade and worked hard to create a safety net for the local community.” He also asked the new captains to demonstrate leadership that can contribute to the continued development of the Jeondong-myeon volunteer fire brigade and the local community.
The inauguration ceremony of the Jeondong-myeon male and female volunteer firefighters went beyond a simple change of positions and became a meaningful event that strengthened cooperation between the local community and volunteer firefighters and served as an opportunity for a new leap forward in ensuring the safety of residents.
