Jongno-gu has opened the ‘Jongno Fashion Support Center’ in the Changsin-dong clothing manufacturing industry area and has begun full-scale operation. The center was completed last year after being selected for a public offering by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups with a total investment of 3 billion won.

The center has a total floor area of 463.74㎡ and is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of 124 Changsin-gil (3rd floor of Dongbu Women’s Cultural Center) and 79 Changsin-gil. Each space is designed to perform specialized functions to support clothing manufacturing.

On the third floor of the Eastern Women’s Cultural Center, there is a ‘shared equipment room’ equipped with various sewing machines and a ‘product development room’, a collaborative space for joint brand planning and prototype development. Through this, small clothing manufacturers are expected to be able to produce products and develop designs more efficiently.

The second floor of 79 Changsin-gil consists of an ‘office,’ a ‘clothing exhibition space,’ and a ‘training room,’ and the third floor has an ‘automatic cutting room’ and a ‘CAD room’ that support precise work.

Jongno-gu plans to increase the productivity of sewing companies by providing automatic cutting services and digital CAD work support here, while also providing space and equipment rentals necessary for work, including a shared equipment room, capacity building training, and consulting services.

In addition, we plan to strengthen the competitiveness and vitalize the fashion industry by promoting collaboration between designers and small clothing manufacturers.

Jongno-gu District Mayor Jeong Moon-heon emphasized at the opening ceremony of the Jongno Fashion Support Center that he hopes the Changsin-dong area will grow into a center of the fashion and apparel industry representing Seoul, and that he will pursue practical and sustainable support measures so that the local industries of Jongno-gu can develop into high value-added industries.

With the opening of this center, Changsin-dong is expected to establish itself as a key base for the clothing manufacturing industry and further grow the fashion industry in Jongno-gu.
