On the 16th, Michuhol-gu Hakik 1-dong (headed by Moon Mi-hee) signed a business agreement with the Community Social Security Council (chairperson Lee Ok-ran) and the Home Side Dish Store in Seokbawi Market (CEO Hong Seong-sook) for the ‘Happy Side Dish Support Project with Emotion’.

Through this agreement, Hakik 1-dong plans to provide 6 kinds of nutritious side dishes every other month to 15 low-income vulnerable households, including elderly people living alone and disabled households with limited mobility. The side dishes will be delivered by village social workers, welfare directors, and council members who will visit the homes in person to check on their well-being.

Hong Seong-suk, the owner of the home-cooked side dish store, expressed her warm heart by saying, “I hope this will be of some help to single senior citizens and people with disabilities who have difficulty preparing meals.”

An official from Hakik 1-dong said, “We would like to thank the Community Social Security Council and the Home-based Side Dish Store for showing concern and love for their neighbors,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to discover and continuously support our neighbors in need through public-private cooperation.”

Meanwhile, the Home Side Dish Store has been consistently providing support for vulnerable groups in blind spots of welfare by donating five side dishes, including seasonal kimchi and soup, to 20 households twice a month since 2023. It is expected that sharing activities for the local community will be further expanded through this agreement.
