Incheon City Namdong-gu Nonhyeon 2 -dong Community Social Security Council announced on the 17th that it donated tteokguk rice cakes (408 kg) to celebrate Seollal .
Tteokguk rice cakes were delivered to 126 single elderly households , 13 senior centers , and 1 local children’s center .
Since 2014, Nonhyeon 2- dong Council has been delivering warmth to the local community by providing rice cake soup to senior citizens and disabled households who spend the holidays alone without their families, so that they can reflect on the meaning of the holidays .

An elderly person who received the rice cakes said, “ It warms my heart to receive rice cake soup as a gift during a holiday season when I could have been lonely, and I am grateful to those who cared for me . ”
Chairman Choi Byeong-ro said, “ I prepared this because I thought the elderly would be having a hard time ahead of the holidays due to rising prices and poor economy, ” and added , “ I hope the holidays will be a small comfort to our lonely neighbors . ”
