Incheon Dong-gu announced that it will operate a reservation-based circular bus called ‘Dongunhajeong’ starting in 2025 to promote the use of the Dementia Care Center. This bus will be operated free of charge to provide practical assistance in dementia prevention and management for local residents.
Incheon Dong-gu Dementia Care Center plays an essential role due to the aging population and increase in dementia patients in the region. However, many residents have difficulty using the Dementia Care Center due to poor transportation accessibility. To solve this problem, Dong-gu will pilot a circular bus connecting Dong-Incheon Station and the Dementia Care Center starting in 2024, and will begin official operation in 2025. Through this, it plans to dramatically increase accessibility to dementia prevention and management services.
‘Dongunhajeong’ runs twice a day, every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, from 9 to 10 a.m. and 11 to 12 a.m. In particular, in order to detect and prevent early symptoms of dementia, a dementia screening vehicle will also run twice a month. This screening vehicle will meet residents at the Dementia Care Center in the morning to check for dementia early and connect them with the necessary support.
In addition, the Dementia Care Center does not simply provide screening and counseling, but also actively provides home visit counseling and family support services. In particular, it operates regular programs for families of dementia patients to reduce their mental and emotional burden and strengthen the support system. It also plans to expand direct visit services for residents who have difficulty visiting the center.

A Dong-gu official said, “With this circular bus operation, we will make it easier for local residents to use the Dementia Care Center and provide various dementia-related services, contributing to improving the quality of life of residents.”
Donggu Dementia Care Center plays a leading role in dementia prevention and treatment, and will continue to prepare various measures for the health of residents in the future.
