'Pedestrians with Disabilities Safe' Namdong-gu, Improving Pedestrian Environment Around Gil Hospital

Incheon City’s Namdong-gu announced on the 6th that it has completed a project to improve the pedestrian environment around Gil Hospital in Guwol-dong .

This project was promoted as the ‘H-ZONE’ project through an agreement between Incheon City , Namdong-gu , and Gachon University Gil Hospital .

‘H-ZONE’ is a project to designate pedestrian safety zones to protect vulnerable pedestrians, such as the elderly , patients , and the disabled who frequently visit hospitals , from the risks of traffic accidents and pedestrian safety accidents , and to create an optimal pedestrian environment .

The district signed an agreement with Incheon City and implemented the Incheon-type pedestrian safety and security urban design guidelines to suit the circumstances of Namdong-gu .

Through this project, the width of the sidewalk was expanded and a raised crosswalk was installed to create a safe and convenient pedestrian environment .

In addition , design fences were installed and LED lighting facilities were added to ensure pedestrian safety during the day and at night .

Namdong-gu District Mayor Park Jong-hyo said, Through this project, we expect to improve the pedestrian environment in congested areas and also help improve the city’s appearance by reorganizing the city’s atmosphere .
