The digital sprout camp for commuting students hosted by Yeongdeungpo-gu Future Education Foundation will be held from February 19th to 20th. This camp is being held in collaboration with the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity to provide youth with opportunities to experience and learn about software (SW) and artificial intelligence (AI). The recruitment period is from January 16th to 31st, and the target participants are elementary school 4th to 6th graders and middle and high school students.
The camp is divided into two programs. First, there is a program called ‘AI Autonomous Robot Made with My Own Hands’ for elementary school students. In this course, students will understand the basic concepts of robots and artificial intelligence, and learn the movements of AI robots through robot dance competitions and computer vision practice. This program will be held at the YDP Future Lifelong Learning Center, and the participation fee will be fully supported.

The second program, ‘Learning AI with ChatGPT’, is for middle and high school students and includes understanding generative AI, AI chatbot design, and autonomous driving technology experience. Participants can practice problem solving using SW coding and directly experience the principles of AI.
All programs consist of a total of 8 sessions over 2 days, with each session lasting 40-45 minutes. Youth who wish to participate can apply on a first-come, first-served basis through the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office website. If there are cancellations, the waiting list will be notified separately. Parking space is limited, so public transportation is recommended.
Yeongdeungpo-gu Future Education Foundation hopes that this camp will be an opportunity for young people to increase their understanding of AI.
