Sejong Special Self-Governing City Facilities Management Corporation (CEO Cho So-yeon) has further strengthened its information security control system and presented a new standard for public institution security management. On the 16th, the Corporation announced that it has established a 24-hour security control using RPA (Robotic Process Automation). This is a technology that automates repetitive and simple tasks to increase the efficiency of administrative work, and is an example of expanding the scope of RPA, which is mainly used in public administration fields such as accounting and clerical work, to information security.

Moving away from the existing passive security monitoring method, the corporation designed an automated process to quickly detect and block harmful sites through RPA. This system uncovers blind spots in security monitoring, reprocesses data to create analysis reports, and establishes a feedback system that encourages voluntary security activities of members based on this. This is expected to have a potential security accident prevention effect.

Chairman Cho So-yeon explained, “The RPA-based security control system has greatly improved the level of information security of the corporation,” and “It has not only automated the blocking of harmful websites, but also increased work efficiency and greatly strengthened the ability to prevent security accidents.” He added, “We will continue to utilize the latest technology to secure the stability of the corporation’s information security and create a safe work environment.”

This case is evaluated as a model for public institutions to proactively respond to security issues through technological innovation. The introduction of RPA is not simply a technological leap, but is making a practical contribution to raising security awareness among members and preventing security accidents.
