Seongdong-gu Conducts Thorough Safety Inspection Ahead of Lunar New Year Holidays

Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) will conduct safety inspections on 94 construction sites in the district from January 6 to January 24. Of these, 22 large and medium-sized construction sites will be thoroughly managed through joint inspections with external experts. Major inspection items include fire prevention, concrete quality control, snow removal measures, and whether workers have break rooms and heating equipment, and the focus is on raising awareness at construction sites and preventing safety accidents. Problems discovered during the inspection will be immediately corrected, and if there are serious defects, construction will be stopped and managed until safety measures are completed.

[Korean Today] Seongdong-gu has begun intensive safety inspections of road facilities and other facilities within the district ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.

From January 13 to January 22, 17 road facilities including road bridges, overpasses, and underpasses, and 44 road slopes including retaining walls will be inspected. 26 civil engineering staff from Seongdong-gu Office will be divided into 6 groups to conduct visual inspections, focusing on structural damage, ground subsidence, and cracks. Simple and minor issues will be addressed immediately, and in case of safety concerns, emergency measures, urgent repairs, and detailed safety diagnosis will be implemented.

From January 6 to January 17, a total of 13 traditional markets and crowded areas, including Majang Livestock Products Market, Hanyang University Shopping District, and Yeonmujang-gil, will be specially patrolled. Seven areas will be intensively inspected, including fire prevention, damage to roads and sidewalks, traffic facility inspections, illegal advertisements, and unauthorized dumping. Any issues discovered will be reported immediately through the Smart Inconvenience Reporting App, and follow-up management will be thoroughly conducted until they are resolved.

Seongdong-gu is conducting thorough safety inspections of construction sites, road facilities, and traditional markets to ensure residents’ safety during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday. Seongdong-gu Mayor Jeong Won-oh emphasized, “We will prioritize the safety of residents and do our best to prevent and manage safety accidents in everyday life.”
