Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) announced that it will impose a regular registration license tax (license) of 1.71 billion won for 2025 and operate the payment period from January 16 to 31.

Registration license tax (license) is an old tax imposed on those who hold a taxable license (permit, permit, etc.) as of January 1 of each year, and a differential tax rate is applied depending on the type of license, from Type 1 (KRW 67,500) to Type 5 (KRW 18,000).
Payments can be made at any bank nationwide, and can be easily processed using your bankbook, cash card, or credit card at a cash machine (CD/ATM) without a statement. In addition, various non-face-to-face payment methods are provided, such as Internet banking, ARS (1599-3900), Seoul ETAX, smartphone STAX, dedicated account transfer, and simple payment apps (Kakao Pay, Payco, Toss, etc.).
If you have lost the notice or have not received it due to a change of address, etc., you can receive a reissue at any district office tax department or local community center in Seoul.
In particular, if you receive the registration license tax notice as an electronic notice (email, simple payment app, etc.) or apply for automatic transfer through an account or credit card, you can receive a tax deduction of 800 won when applying for electronic notice or automatic transfer, and 1,600 won when applying at the same time. Please note that automatic transfer applications are also possible in January, but the tax deduction will not be applied.
Seongdong-gu District Mayor Jeong Won-oh said, “The registration license tax is a valuable resource for Seongdong-gu, so I urge you to pay it on time to avoid any disadvantages,” and added, “We will actively promote it to increase the convenience of tax payment and encourage payment on time.”
