Seongnam City announced on the 10th that it imposed 95,429 cases of regular registration license taxes for 2024, totaling 4.12976 billion won. This is a tax imposed on taxpayers who have held a license for more than one year as of the tax base date (January 1), and is applied differentially depending on the type of license and business scale.

The registration license tax is levied depending on the type of license: ▲Class 1: KRW 67,500 ▲Class 2: KRW 54,000 ▲Class 3: KRW 45,000 ▲Class 4: KRW 27,000 ▲Class 5: KRW 18,000.

This year, registration license taxes increased by 908 cases, approximately 59.53 million won (1.5%) compared to last year (94,521 cases, 4.07023 billion won) due to the increase in mail-order sales and other businesses as a result of the activation of e-commerce.

The registration license tax payment period is from January 16 to 31, and various payment methods are provided. Payment can be made easily through financial institution automated machines, Internet Wetax (www.wetax.go.kr), virtual accounts, credit cards, telephone automatic response systems (☎142-211), mobile bills (Kakao Pay, Naver Pay, Payco), etc.

Please note that if you miss the payment deadline, a late payment surcharge of 3% of the notified amount will be imposed.

Additionally, if you are no longer conducting business or using your license, you must report the closure to the relevant licensing department to avoid unnecessary tax charges.

City officials said, “We hope that taxpayers will pay their registration and license taxes by the deadline so that they do not have to pay additional taxes due to missing the deadline,” and “We will support citizens to conveniently pay their taxes through various payment methods.”
