Songpa-gu (Songpa-gu Mayor Seo Kang-seok) announced that it will renovate aging children’s parks so that children can play safely and enjoyably. This reorganization will be carried out with a total budget of 2.31 billion won, and a total of 8 children’s parks will be targeted.

Despite the high demand for play, the need for redevelopment has been raised continuously in children’s parks in Songpa-gu due to old play equipment and facilities. Accordingly, the district completed the redevelopment of five places last year, including Arang Children’s Park in Songpa 1-dong, Cheonsang Children’s Park and Dodam Children’s Park in Macheon 1-dong, Gaemi Children’s Park in Geoyeo 2-dong, and Hallim Children’s Park in Jangji-dong.

These parks have been replaced with unique and diverse play equipment, moving away from the monotonous and old playgrounds of the past, and have created an environment where children can run around freely by repairing old facilities and reinforcing safety. In particular, Arang Children’s Park has been reborn as a high-quality children’s park by comprehensively improving the latest play facilities, walking paths, exercise equipment, and rest facilities.

This year, three places will be renovated: Bangi 2-dong Peace Park, Jamsilbon-dong Bongbat Children’s Park, and Jangji-dong Neulbom Children’s Park. Peace Park will be transformed into a leisure space where people can heal with nature by creating green rest areas and walking trails. Bongbat Children’s Park and Neulbom Children’s Park will demolish old play equipment and replace it with the latest play facilities preferred by children, providing safer and more enjoyable play spaces.

Songpa-gu Mayor Seo Kang-seok emphasized that he would create a safe play environment where children can freely run around and develop their creativity through the reorganization of children’s parks, and he said that he would do his best to continue to reorganize children’s parks and small parks so that all residents can use them safely and comfortably.

Songpa-gu expects that through this children’s park reorganization, children will be able to enjoy safer and more creative play experiences.
