Songpa-gu announced that it was selected as a certified institution for the second half of 2024 in the ‘Education Donation Career Experience Institution Certification System’ hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry. With this, Songpa-gu plans to provide systematic and high-quality career experience programs to youth free of charge until December 2027.
The ‘Education Donation Career Experience Organization Certification System’ is a system that certifies public and private organizations that provide quality career experience opportunities to youth for free. Certified organizations are registered on the career experience support site ‘Dream Road’ and receive support such as program promotion and operational consulting.
A total of 473 organizations participated in the certification agency application in the second half of 2024, and 411 organizations were ultimately selected. Among them, Songpa-gu and Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do were the only local governments included.
Songpa-gu received high marks for expanding the career exploration opportunities for young people through systematic and practical educational courses related to promising future jobs. In particular, it operated 37 free career experience programs in 2023, focusing on new industries such as AI and space engineering, centered around the ‘Songpa Run Head Center’.
The program involved 427 students from 19 middle schools, and the survey results showed a high satisfaction rate of over 90%. The percentage of students who wanted to participate again reached 87.5%, confirming the effectiveness and necessity of the program.
In addition, Songpa-gu is continuously operating various future education programs suitable for the 4th industrial revolution era, such as AI coding and metaverse, at five ‘Songpa Run Education Centers’ (Head, Wiryeseong, Jamsil, Pungnap, and Macheon).
Songpa-gu District Mayor Seo Kang-seok said, “It is very meaningful that we are the only autonomous district in Seoul to be selected as an educational donation career experience certification institution for the second half of 2024,” and added, “We will continue to actively operate career experience programs linked to new industries so that young people can grow into creative talents.”
Songpa-gu plans to use this certification as an opportunity to further strengthen systematic educational support for nurturing future industry talent.
