Applications for the 2025 basic public service direct payment will begin on February 1. The Geumsan Office of the Chungnam Branch of the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service announced that this application will be divided into online non-face-to-face applications and in-person applications at the township, township, or dong where the farmland is located . Online applications are available from February 1 to February 28 , and in – person applications will be accepted from March 4 to April 30 .

The basic public direct payment system was introduced in 2020 , and aims to promote the public service function of agriculture and rural areas and stabilize the income of farmers . From 2025, the subsidy will increase by 5% from 1.36 million won per hectare to a maximum of 2.15 million won . This will be applied differentially depending on whether or not it is an agricultural land promotion area .
The applicants are farmers who have no changes in their public direct payment registration information and agricultural management body registration information from last year . They can easily register through non-face-to-face application after receiving simple application text instructions . Farmers with changes or new applicants must visit the township, township, or district office from March 4 to apply in person .
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs plans to finalize the recipients of the payments through verification of qualifications , confirmation of compliance , and on-site inspections after the application is completed . Compliance items include proper management of agricultural waste , preparation of farming logs , village community activities , and completion of education . Direct payments are scheduled to be paid starting in November of this year .
Inquiries regarding public service direct payment applications can be made year-round through the Integrated Call Center ( ☎ 1334) . Farmers can receive various services such as simple ARS application , consent to use personal information , and face-to-face training attendance verification .
Chungnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services Office Director Kim Jong-woo said, “ I hope farmers will be aware of the eligibility requirements and compliance requirements for public direct payments and actively apply for them ,” and “ I also urge them to pay close attention to the rice industry structural reform measures and the rice cultivation area adjustment system . ” He hopes that this will be an opportunity for farmers to secure income stability through the subsidies and strengthen agricultural competitiveness through the production of high-quality agricultural products .
