Participants can explore various occupations and technologies with the theme of change and innovation in future society, and naturally experience creativity and problem-solving skills.
The pop-up store’s experiential program focuses on helping participants learn the importance of cooperation and communication while carrying out given tasks. In particular, there are interesting side events such as space flight tests and costume events, and participants are also given generous prizes.
This pop-up store is a preliminary experience space for Future Planet, which is scheduled to open in 2028 on the site of a former oil storage facility next to the Geumohyeon-dong Metropolitan Administrative Town, and is a meaningful opportunity to show citizens the vision of the experience center that will be built in the future.
Future Planet is a space where you can experience about 60 different jobs in 6 fields including space, information technology (IT), energy, bio, and culture, set in a virtual future city in 2050. This facility is designed to help children from the upper grades of elementary school to the first and second grades of middle school develop creative and proactive problem-solving skills.
A Future Planet 2050 official said, “This pop-up store will be a special opportunity for young people to understand new jobs that are emerging or disappearing amidst technological innovation and industrial changes, and to confirm their own potential.”
