The Uijeongbu Memory Repository is a record preservation (archive) base space established to collect, preserve, and utilize Uijeongbu’s modern and contemporary history materials. It opened in December 2023 at the former site of the Hyanggun Club across from the Heungseon-dong Administrative Welfare Center, and is currently operated by the Uijeongbu Cultural Center.

‘Memory Salon Season 3’ provided citizens with a special experience with a New Year’s special lecture themed on the ‘twelve zodiac signs’, following Season 1, which started in June of last year, and Season 2, which was a summer vacation special.

This program was composed of lectures for adults and family units, and attracted a lot of interest as it included a wider range of participants. Pre-registration closed early, and received a great response from participating citizens.

In the adult lecture, fortune telling for the new year was conducted using the twelve zodiac animals and Yut divination, and in the family lecture, unique topics such as stories about the twelve zodiac animals and decorating lucky shoes were covered, providing enjoyment to the participants.

In addition to this lecture, Uijeongbu Memory Storage continues to communicate with citizens by consistently conducting various group programs, planning events, and planning exhibitions. It is open for viewing from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and groups of 10 or more require advance reservations (031-853-8374).

An official from Uijeongbu Memory Storage said, “The Memory Salon program provides a special opportunity for citizens to feel interest in their daily lives and contributes to informing people about Uijeongbu’s modern and contemporary history,” adding, “We will continue to work with citizens through various programs in the future.”
