Yeongdeungpo-gu announced that it is providing both health and emotional stability to seniors through the ‘365 Health Companion Service’ of the public health center. This service is a customized medical and welfare service designed for seniors over 65 years old who need health care, and the ‘Health Companion Team’ consisting of medical experts visits their homes to provide support.
The service is improving the quality of life of seniors through a variety of integrated approaches, including ▲health counseling ▲pain treatment and rehabilitation ▲diet management guidance. The district mayor emphasized that this service is bringing new hope to seniors and promised continued service development in the future.

As a practical example of the Yeongdeungpo-gu Health Companion Team, an elderly person in his 80s was bedridden due to severe back pain and financial difficulties. The team visited regularly to provide customized health care and nutritional supplements, and as a result, the elderly person regained energy and began to go out voluntarily. The elderly person said, “I used to feel lethargic because no one paid attention to me, but thanks to the Health Companion Team, I gained the courage to live.”
Also, last year, when a senior citizen in his 70s was in critical condition due to hypoglycemic shock, he was able to overcome the crisis with the prompt emergency treatment provided by the Health Companion Team and a 119 call. Mr. B’s family expressed their gratitude, saying, “Thanks to the quick response of the Health Companion Team, we were able to avoid losing our precious family member.”
Yeongdeungpo-gu’s ‘365 Health Companion Service’ is not limited to simple health management, but is also positioned as a model for improving the quality of life of the elderly and for community care.
