Yongin Special City operates reading clubs in the first and second half of each year to promote reading culture and cultivate the humanities of citizens. In the first half of this year, a total of 50 clubs, divided into general and elementary school divisions, will be opened and operated in 17 public libraries.

The general section consists of 34 clubs (267 members), and the elementary section consists of 16 clubs (156 members), with about 10 members participating in each club. Activities are scheduled to take place twice a month from March to June.

The general club is operated as a free-form gathering where members autonomously select books and topics to discuss, and the elementary club is structured to read books on various topics provided by the library and engage in follow-up reading activities.

Citizens who wish to participate can apply on a first-come, first-served basis from the 20th on the cultural event application page on the Yongin City Public Library website (lib.yongin.go.kr).

The city expects that through this reading club activity, it will provide an opportunity for citizens to enjoy reading discussions and communicate through books, and will further spread reading culture within the region.
