Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) announced on the 16th that it will operate a historical experience education program for children and families at the Yongin City Museum during the winter vacation. This program will be held from February 4th to the 28th, and the target audience is limited to children aged 6 to 6th grade in elementary school.

Yongin City Museum has prepared various experiential activities so that children can take interest in the history, relics, and people of Yongin. Major programs include ‘Containing the Year of the Blue Snake’ to commemorate ‘2025, the Year of the Blue Snake’, ‘Mysterious Paleolithic Workshop’ to learn about the Paleolithic relics of Yongin, ‘Yongin’s Beacon Site that Delivers News’ themed on the Seokseongsan Beacon Site, a communication system of the Joseon Dynasty, and ‘Today, I am the Top Winner!’ to experience the Joseon Dynasty’s civil service examination and make a royal seal.
Applications for participation will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting January 20th through the Yongin City Integrated Reservation website (https://www.yongin.go.kr/resve).
A museum official said, “This program will be an opportunity for children to learn about Yongin’s history and culture in a fun way,” and added, “We will continue to provide various experience and learning programs so that they can develop an interest in history and love for the region.”
Through this program, Yongin Special City plans to provide children with a beneficial experience that will help them develop an interest in history and easily understand Yongin’s historical heritage during the winter vacation period.
