Yeongdeungpo-gu Future Education Foundation, in cooperation with the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, will hold a “Digital Sprout Camp for Schools” to provide AI experience and education opportunities for youth. This camp is for elementary, middle, and high school students, and is a program that increases understanding of AI and SW technology and provides hands-on experience.
The camp will be held for two days from February 19th to 20th, 2025, and will be held for a total of 6 hours from 2 PM to 5 PM. The recruitment target is elementary school 4th to 6th graders and middle and high school students in Yeongdeungpo-gu. Students who will be in the 4th grade of elementary school or the 1st grade of middle school this year can also apply, and the recruitment period is from 9 AM to 6 PM from January 16th (Thursday) to January 31st (Friday). Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis through the integrated reservation system on the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office website.

The program for elementary school students is ‘AI Autonomous Robot Made with My Own Hands’ and is held at the YDP Future Lifelong Learning Center. In this course, you will learn the basic concepts of AI through motion creation and coding practice of AI robots, autonomous robot projects, etc. The ‘Learning AI with ChatGPT’ course for middle and high school students includes understanding generative AI, designing AI chatbots, and experiencing autonomous driving technology using SW coding.
Participation fees are fully subsidized, and since parking spaces are limited, we recommend using public transportation. For more information, contact the Yeongdeungpo-gu Future Education Foundation. This camp is expected to induce interest in AI technology among youth and provide opportunities for them to grow into future talents.
