Yeongdeungpo-gu announced that it will hold a ‘Eoullim Market’ in the plaza in front of the district office to celebrate the Lunar New Year holiday. This event will be held for a total of 4 days from Tuesday, January 21 to Friday, January 24, and traditional market merchants and small business owners will participate to sell various agricultural, livestock, and livestock specialties and holiday food at low prices.
In order to support small business owners who are struggling due to the cooling domestic market and to help local residents prepare for the holiday frugally, the market operation period was extended from one day to four days. Yeongdeungpo-gu Office expects that this event will help revitalize the local economy and contribute to stabilizing the people’s economy.

Mayor Choi Ho-kwon said, “As the domestic economic downturn continues, the perceived economic situation of local businesses has become more difficult,” and added, “We are making various efforts to revitalize the local economy, such as increasing the period of market operation and the number of participating businesses.”
This year’s Harmony Market will be attended by not only traditional market merchants but also new small business owners, adding to the meaning of mutual prosperity. Participating merchants will have the opportunity to overcome difficulties through extensive encounters with consumers.
The market offers a variety of fresh agricultural and livestock products, including Korean beef, oysters, and vegetables, as well as traditional foods and holiday gift sets. All items are offered at lower prices than the market price. In addition, credit card payments are accepted for customer convenience.
Mayor Choi said, “We have expanded the operation of the Awoolim Market to provide strength to traditional market merchants and small business owners who are suffering from the shrinking local economy,” and emphasized, “We will provide maximum support so that the people’s economy can be revitalized and smiles can bloom.”
Yeongdeungpo-gu’s Eoullim Market is expected to become an even more special event during the Lunar New Year holiday. We ask for the participation of many local residents and look forward to preparing for an even more bountiful holiday.
