A tourism hub combining independent spirit and K-culture
This service is being carried out in accordance with Cheonan City’s plan to strengthen the symbolism of the Independence Hall and to create a tourism hub that combines the spirit of independence and the new Korean Wave culture by hosting the 2025 K-Culture Expo. The Independence Hall is one of the eight scenic spots of Cheonan and is a key resource that promotes national spirit and has historical significance. Cheonan City plans to use this to increase the number of visitors to the Independence Hall and to promote facility reinforcement and program development that can enhance the convenience of tourists.

Comprehensive development linked to existing tourism resources
Cheonan City is currently establishing a plan to build regional tourism infrastructure by linking major nearby tourist resources such as Yongyeon Reservoir, Heukseongsan Mountain, and Cheonan Integrated Resort and Tourism Complex, centered around the Independence Hall of Korea. Through this, the plan is to form a comprehensive tourism belt encompassing the entire Cheonan and to revitalize the local economy.

October service completed, specific implementation plan prepared
At the commencement report meeting, various ideas were discussed, such as strengthening the role of the Independence Hall, ways to link cultural and natural tourism resources, and ways to increase the influx of tourists. Cheonan City plans to establish a specific implementation plan based on the opinions presented at this report meeting and complete the service in October.

Mayor Park Sang-don: Cheonan leaps forward as a tourism hub
Cheonan Mayor Park Sang-don said, “The Independence Hall of Korea is an important asset that symbolizes national culture and historical value,” and added, “We will do our best to create a tourism hub where tourists visiting Cheonan can experience the spirit of independence and new Korean Wave culture centered around the hall.”

Cheonan City expects that once this project is completed, the area around the Independence Hall of Korea will become a tourist attraction where history and modern culture are combined, creating a new turning point for the local economy and tourism industry.
