On the 7th, the Dong-Incheon-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Jung-gu, Incheon City implemented the ‘Dong-Incheon Health First Step’, a welfare and health specialized project for residents in the district, at the Jeon-dong Ottergol Community Facility.

‘Dong Incheon First Step to Health’ is a project that visits Jeondong Ottergol on the first Tuesday of every month to measure blood pressure and blood sugar levels, provide health counseling, provide education, conduct body composition tests, diagnose obesity, and operate dementia prevention and cognitive ability improvement programs, contributing to the promotion of health and improvement of quality of life for residents.

In particular, it provides essential health information to residents, such as rules for preventing fever and cold-related diseases, flu vaccinations, and health checkups, and also provides an opportunity for the elderly living alone who usually feel isolated to gather and communicate and interact actively.

Residents who attended the program said, “It was very helpful to be able to resolve things I was curious about but didn’t know about in one place,” and “I hope the program continues for the local community.”
