Goyang Special City (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) confirmed the direction of the regional health care policy through the ‘2025 Goyang City Regional Health Care Deliberation Committee Regular Meeting’ held at Goyang Aram Nuri Hot Season on the 16th. At this meeting, the 3rd year implementation plan of the 8th Goyang City Regional Health Care Plan and the 8th elected government’s basic plan for a healthy city were discussed and approved.
Goyang City’s regional health care plan is a policy established as a four-year plan from 2023 to 2026, and is promoting four strategies and 13 detailed tasks based on the vision of “Goyang, a smart and healthy city that realizes a healthy and balanced life.”
The meeting reviewed the results of the second-year plan implemented in 2024 and found that out of 11 representative performance indicators, five indicators, including the healthy lifestyle practice rate, achieved their goals, but six indicators, including the subjective health awareness rate and depression experience rate, fell short of their goals. To improve this, the city plans to discover and promote more effective public projects in 2025.
The 3rd year plan for 2025 sets the following key strategies: ▲ Zero health gaps by eliminating blind spots ▲ Strengthening smart health management based on ICT (Information and Communication Technology) ▲ Creating a healthy environment through multi-disciplinary cooperation ▲ Strengthening infectious disease response and health safety nets. Through this, the plan is to increase the actual performance of Goyang City’s medical and health projects and protect the health of its citizens.
Meanwhile, the 8th local government’s basic plan for a healthy city was also passed at this meeting. This includes strengthening Goyang City’s status as a healthy city by reflecting health factors in all of its policies and establishing an organic cooperative system between each department.
The expert committee members who attended the meeting proposed various ideas, including ▲strengthening collaboration between public health centers and related organizations, ▲resetting performance indicators to reflect social needs, ▲expanding mobile-based health management platforms, and ▲establishing hotlines to eliminate blind spots in medical care.
Goyang City plans to concretize the 2025 local health care policy based on the content discussed at this meeting and work to improve the health and quality of life of citizens. A city official said, “We will reflect the opinions from today’s meeting and realize Goyang as a smart and healthy city where all citizens can live healthy and balanced lives.”
