Price stabilization campaign and price labeling system compliance inspection conducted in time for the Lunar New Year holiday

Ongjin County (Governor Moon Kyung-bok) announced on the 15th that it had conducted a ‘Price Labeling System Compliance Inspection and Price Stabilization Campaign for the Lunar New Year’ at the Yeongheung Fisheries Cooperative’s direct sales center. This campaign was prepared to strengthen price stability and consumer protection ahead of the Lunar New Year and to promote local economic revitalization.

A total of 15 people, including the Ongjin County Agriculture and Fisheries Division Chief, economic policy staff, Ongjin County Small Business Association executives, and Yeongheung Fisheries Cooperative Sashimi Center Labor Welfare Association executives, participated in the campaign that day. The main activities included urging merchants to comply with the price labeling system and requesting them to refrain from excessive price increases. In addition, they checked the accuracy of the country of origin labeling and the cleanliness, and informed citizens visiting the market of the importance of price stability and requested their cooperation.

Ongjin County has designated the three weeks from January 6 to the 24th as the ‘Seollal Holiday Price Stabilization Measures Period’, and is operating a comprehensive situation room to conduct inspections and investigations for price stabilization. In particular, it is focusing on suppressing price increases and creating a stable holiday atmosphere by closely examining the price trend of holiday products along with compliance with the price labeling system.

Military officials emphasized, “We will actively prepare and implement measures to resolve the difficulties faced by small business owners and consumers due to high prices and to stabilize local prices and revitalize commercial districts.”

It is expected that Ongjin County’s recent activities will contribute to providing local residents with a stable consumption environment during the holiday season and laying the foundation for revitalizing the local economy.
