Ongjin County (Governor Moon Kyung-bok) announced that it will fully implement the ‘2025 Wild Animal Damage Prevention Facility Installation Support Project’ to prevent crop damage that continues to occur due to wild animals such as deer, ducks, magpies, and pheasants.
The target of this project is residents who own farmland in Ongjin County. The county will support 60% of the cost of installing damage prevention facilities such as wire fences, fences, and scarecrows to prevent the approach of wild animals, and the remaining 40% must be borne by the applicant. Applications can be submitted to the relevant district office until February 28.
Last year, Ongjin County invested 36 million won to support the installation of 1,610m of wire fences and 3,780m2 of nets for 13 farms. In addition, Ongjin County plans to operate a ‘Harmful Wild Animal Damage Prevention Team’ to quickly capture wild animals in areas where damage is reported and conduct rescue activities.
