The Seoul Oriental Medicine Promotion Center ( Seoul Yakryeongsi Oriental Medicine Museum ) , located in Seoul Yakryeongsi, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, has been selected again as a ‘ Seoul Metropolitan City Medical Tourism Cooperation Organization ‘ hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Tourism Foundation . With this selection, the center will operate as a medical tourism cooperation organization until 2027 , laying the foundation for becoming a hub for domestic and international medical tourism .

This project is a program designed to provide a safe and reliable medical tourism environment for foreign tourists visiting Seoul . The goal is to strengthen Seoul’s medical tourism image by selecting excellent medical institutions , institutions that attract foreign patients , and tourism service institutions and providing them with multifaceted support . About 260 institutions applied this year , and 180 of them were finally selected .
The Seoul Oriental Medicine Promotion Center was the only local government organization to be selected as a ‘ Tourism Service Organization – Wellness Facility ’ . Wellness facilities are facilities for tourists seeking health and happiness , and were highly evaluated for providing experiences and healing programs based on oriental medicine .
With this selection, the Seoul Oriental Medicine Promotion Center will enjoy various benefits, including promotion of medical tourism , domestic and international marketing , networking between partner organizations , and support for tourist experience expenses . In particular, it plans to further promote oriental medicine content and develop experience programs to attract foreign tourists . Through this, the goal is to widely publicize the appeal of oriental medicine and establish Seoul as a mecca for wellness tourism .

The Seoul Oriental Medicine Promotion Center is a specialized experience and education facility for oriental medicine located in Seoul Yakryeongsi, a special zone for oriental medicine industry . It systematically promotes the tradition of oriental medicine and conveys the value of oriental medicine to domestic and international visitors through various experience programs and exhibitions . It also plays an important role in wellness tourism as a space where one can explore the history and modern application of oriental medicine .
Meanwhile, Dongdaemun-gu Office has been holding various oriental medicine cultural events in cooperation with the Seoul Oriental Medicine Promotion Center . Through events that reflect the characteristics of the region, such as the ‘ Oriental Medicine Day ‘ festival , oriental medicine health experience program , and traditional herbal medicine market tour, the charm of oriental medicine has been widely promoted . This collaboration has played a major role in increasing the accessibility of oriental medicine to both local residents and tourists .
An official from the Seoul Oriental Medicine Promotion Center expressed his ambition, saying, “ We will inform domestic and foreign tourists of the value of oriental medicine and provide them with a special experience that provides healing and vitality . ” Such efforts are expected to contribute to further enhancing the competitiveness of Seoul’s medical tourism .
