Ulsan City is actively encouraging vaccinations to respond to the recent surge in respiratory infections during the winter. In particular, influenza and COVID-19 vaccines are provided free of charge to high-risk groups, so citizens are urged to participate in vaccinations quickly.

Currently, influenza vaccination is being implemented free of charge for people over 6 months old, children under 13 years old, pregnant women, and seniors over 65 years old. In addition, the COVID-19 vaccine has been proven effective against recently prevalent mutant viruses, and is recommended for people over 65 years old, immunocompromised people, and those in vulnerable facilities and hospitalized people.
Ulsan City Health Authorities announced that sufficient vaccines have been secured, and that citizens can check whether vaccination is available at a nearby medical institution through the Vaccination Assistant website or their local public health center.
In addition to vaccination, it is also important to thoroughly follow the rules for preventing infectious diseases in daily life. Citizens should make it a habit to: △ observe cough etiquette △ wash hands properly △ do not touch eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands △ ventilate indoor spaces frequently △ visit a medical institution promptly when experiencing fever or respiratory symptoms. These preventive habits can effectively reduce the spread of respiratory infectious diseases.
Ulsan city officials emphasized, “In particular, high-risk groups, children, pregnant women, and those in vulnerable facilities should receive vaccinations as soon as possible,” and “vaccination is an important means of protecting not only oneself but also one’s family and community.”
Health authorities plan to strengthen comprehensive quarantine measures to prevent the spread of respiratory infectious diseases and continue to inform citizens of the importance of vaccination. If all citizens practice vaccination and quarantine rules with a responsible attitude, it is expected that the spread of infectious diseases can be effectively prevented.
