Cheonan City Agricultural Technology Center announced on the 9th that it is recruiting students for the 9th Cheonan Urban Farmer School for citizens interested in urban agriculture. This training was planned to provide an opportunity to experience agriculture firsthand and enjoy healthy agricultural activities in the city.

Training and Recruitment Overview
Cheonan Urban Farmer School will run from March 13 to November 20, 2024. Classes will be held every Thursday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM for two hours, and during the training period, participants will systematically learn the basics of urban agriculture and practical skills while growing crops directly in the garden.
The participation fee is 40,000 won including the cost of materials, and the total number of applicants is 100. If the number of applicants exceeds the number of applicants, a lottery will be held to select participants.
Practical garden and educational content
The final selected trainees will be able to experience farming activities directly in a 9.9㎡ (3 pyeong) practical garden per person. The curriculum includes the entire process of agricultural cultivation, including garden creation, sowing, cultivation, management, and harvesting , and provides an opportunity to learn practical skills and knowledge of urban agriculture.
A Cheonan City official said, “This is a program where you can experience the charm of urban agriculture while cultivating an actual vegetable garden,” and added, “We will help you personally feel the value of nature that agriculture provides and utilize it in your daily life.”
