Cheonan City announced on the 14th that Director Lee Jong-taek of the Strategic Industry Bureau recently visited four major innovation organizations and business sites, including the Cheonan Science Industry Promotion Agency. This visit was Director Lee’s first on-site inspection since taking office on January 1st, and was arranged to strengthen the fostering of regional strategic industries and directly listen to difficulties in the field.

The first destination, Cheonan Science Industry Promotion Agency, is a key organization for strengthening industrial competitiveness and securing technological competitiveness in Cheonan City. Director Lee shared the main achievements and tasks of the promotion agency and promised to contribute to the development of Cheonan City’s industry through continued support and cooperation.
Director Lee then visited the 1-person creative business support center in Chungnam Techno Park and listened to the operational status and difficulties of 18 companies located there. He expressed his intention to further activate the startup ecosystem through customized support programs for each company.
The director also visited the Battery Chemistry Center and the Secondary Battery Management System (BMS) building to inspect the latest technology and equipment operation status of the secondary battery industry. In particular, he emphasized the technological importance of secondary battery test and evaluation equipment and small cell and new cell manufacturing equipment, and discussed ways to support technology development and commercialization of related companies.
At the last stop, the Display Innovation Process Center, we toured the OLED batch process and cutting-edge equipment for testing and evaluation, and requested active support so that local companies can strengthen their global competitiveness through technological innovation in the display industry.
Lee Jong-taek, Director of the Strategic Industry Bureau, said, “Cheonan City’s Strategic Industry Bureau was established to vitalize the local economy and secure future growth engines,” and emphasized, “Despite difficult economic conditions at home and abroad, we will develop Cheonan City into the strategic industry hub of the Republic of Korea through close cooperation with local innovation organizations.”
Cheonan City plans to use this visit as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between strategic industries and innovative organizations in the region and to continuously pursue specific support measures for the development of advanced technology-based industries and economic revitalization.
