Anseong City (Mayor Kim Bo-ra) achieved outstanding results in 2024 by recording the highest fundraising amount among cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province through the Hometown Love Donation System. As of December 31, 2023, the total fundraising amount was 668.79 million won, a 176% increase from the previous year.
This achievement is the result of 6,264 donors donating for the development of Anseong City, and the average donation per person was 106,768 won. In particular, donors of 100,000 won or less, to which tax deductions are fully applied, accounted for 91.8% of the total donation amount, recording the largest proportion. In addition, donors of 1 million won or more accounted for 6.6% of the total amount, proving the positive impact of large donations on regional development.
A catalyst for revitalizing the local economy, the Hometown Love Donation System
The Hometown Love Donation System, which has been implemented since January 1, 2023, is a system that provides tax deductions and various gift items when donating to your hometown or preferred local government. Anseong City has been carrying out various promotional and strategic fundraising activities to utilize this as a new source of funds for regional development.

Key activities include establishing a close cooperative system with NH Nonghyup Bank, introducing the first private platform in Gyeonggi Province, ‘Weeb’, and holding special monthly gift events. Through these efforts, we have maximized the influx of donors and provided real benefits to local residents.

Customized regional support through designated donation projects
Anseong City is not simply using the Hometown Love Donation System to raise funds, but is using it to provide real benefits to local residents. Starting with a breakfast meal support project for long-distance school commuters, and even a recovery support project for residents affected by heavy snow, the city has been implementing specific and effective designated donation projects and has received favorable responses from residents.
A new leap forward in 2024
Mayor Kim Bo-ra of Anseong City said about this achievement, “We will do our best to ensure that the donations collected through the Hometown Love Donation System can actually contribute to the development and happiness of Anseong City,” and “Based on last year’s achievements, we are preparing various programs to further activate the donation system.”
Anseong City plans to pursue even more abundant local development projects based on the results of this successful fundraising. The hearts of citizens who love their hometown are coming together to open a new future for Anseong.
