Goyang Special City Mayor Lee Dong-hwan chaired an executive meeting on the 15th and reviewed key issues for citizen safety and local autonomy innovation. Goyang Special City Mayor Lee Dong-hwan discussed major tasks for disaster response system and administrative innovation at the executive meeting held on the 15th. The mayor emphasized, “We must thoroughly inspect the disaster response system, taking the recent black ice accidents on Jayuro and Seoul-Munsan Expressway as a lesson,” and “In particular, all departments must make the safety of citizens the top priority and do their best.”

This accident was a major accident involving a chain of events involving 105 vehicles, and it raised the need for a quick response manual review and system improvement in the event of a disaster. The mayor instructed, “Refer to the case of Seongnam City’s fire accident response and devise a plan to minimize damage to citizens.”

In addition, the market emphasized the importance of finding public offering projects to secure the government budget for 2025, saying, “Securing a budget is a key driving force for regional development, so prepare for public offering projects by utilizing all resources.” In particular, he urged thorough advance preparations to not miss the opportunity to secure a budget by mobilizing all available resources such as manpower, technology, and cooperation networks.

He then stated that the market needs to make active efforts to pass the Special Act on Support for Special Cities. The executive meeting on this day also included a time to review the status of the major priority projects of the 8th local government.
