The Ministry of Education announced that it will open the Alternative Education Institution Support Center website on January 16, 2025. This website is a platform where information on alternative education institutions can be found in one place, and provides useful information to students and parents interested in alternative education institutions.
Alternative education institutions aim for learner-centered education and focus on developing individual talents and aptitudes. These institutions must register with the provincial superintendent of education after the enforcement of the “Alternative Education Institutions Act” in 2022, meeting facility and equipment requirements. As of now, 259 institutions have registered.
The newly opened website provides easy access to information on alternative education institutions, such as curriculum, number of students, and contact information. In addition, various educational materials, such as training materials for faculty and staff of alternative education institutions and award-winning works from best practice contests, are provided through the bulletin board.

In addition, preventive education materials used in general elementary, middle, and high schools, such as safety accident prevention, school violence, cyber violence, and digital sex crime prevention materials, are also shared to ensure student safety.
The Ministry of Education announced that it plans to continue to support improving the quality of education and providing a safe and appropriate educational environment for school-aged children and adolescents through the Alternative Education Institution Support Center.
