Jin Kyo-hoon, the mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, attended the 13th regular general meeting of the Gangseo branch of the Seoul Parents’ Association for the Disabled held at Yewon Church in Deungchon-dong on the 15th and expressed his will to promote the rights of the disabled and stabilize the lives of residents.
Mayor Jin said, “Even in these chaotic times, I will do my best to ensure that residents’ daily lives remain stable,” and added, “I will work even harder to protect the rights of people with disabilities and promote their welfare.”
This general meeting, held under the slogan of ‘Children’s rights, with the power of parents!’, was a great success with the attendance of 160 members including Jo Seung-ah, head of the Gangseo branch of the Seoul Parents’ Association for the Disabled.

Sharing business performance in 2024 and plans for 2025
At the regular general meeting held on this day, the business performance and financial settlement of the Gangseo branch for the past 24 years were reported, and the business plan for 25 years was announced. The announced plan attracted attention as it included various support measures to improve the welfare of the disabled and their families.
The Seoul Parents Association for the Disabled, Gangseo Branch has been continuously working to improve the rights and social status of families with disabled persons in the region, and through this regular general meeting, they systematically shared future plans and strengthened their will to unite.
Welfare policy for the disabled in Gangseo-gu
Gangseo-gu operates various policies and services to promote the welfare of the disabled. Representative examples include the ‘Gangseo Disabled Family Support Center’, which supports families of the disabled, and ‘Gangseo First Job’, which helps the developmentally disabled find employment.
A former official said, “We will continue to prepare various support measures so that people with disabilities and their families can live stable lives as members of the community.”
