Major organizations in Bugang-myeon, Sejong Special Self-Governing City (Head Choi Ui-heon) are carrying out relay environmental cleanup activities to create a pleasant local environment in preparation for the Lunar New Year holiday.
On the 18th, the Bugang-myeon Saemaul Council, which began its first environmental cleanup activity, collected 1.5 tons of trash that had been illegally dumped along the Bugang-oecheon-ro road with the participation of about 20 members.

On the 19th, the Bugang-myeon Merchants Association helped improve the environment surrounding the traditional market so that consumers visiting the market can shop in a more pleasant environment ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
Afterwards, major local organizations such as the Bugang-myeon Nature Conservation Council, Residents’ Autonomy Council, and the Correct Living Movement Committee plan to sequentially participate in environmental cleanup activities before the Lunar New Year holiday.
Eunyoung Lee, the women’s president of the Saemaul Movement Council, said, “I am happy to be the first runner in the relay activity so that residents can celebrate Seollal in a clean and pleasant environment ahead of the holiday,” and added, “We will continue to work for the development of the local community and environmental conservation in the future.”
Choi Ui-heon, the head of Bugang-myeon, said, “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Saemaul Movement Council and each organization for their active participation and cooperation,” and added, “I hope that through this relay environmental cleanup activity, both the participating organizations and residents will have a more meaningful and happy Seollal holiday.”
