Cheonan Mayor Park Sang-don begins work in the year of Eulsa with a New Year's visit

Mayor Park Sang-don of Cheonan City began his New Year’s work in earnest by paying his respects at a New Year’s shrine on January 1st, the year of Eulsa.

On this day, Chungnam Eastern Veterans Affairs Office Director Lee Soon-hee, veterans and security organization heads, and Cheonan City officials attended the visit. Mayor Park visited the ‘Cheonan People’s Statue’, the Cheonan 46 Soldiers Memorial, the Gwangbokhoe Memorial, the War Memorial, and the Yu Gwan-sun Memorial Hall in that order, paying tribute to the spirits of the patriotic ancestors and the spirits of those who protected the country, and expressed gratitude for their sacrifice and devotion.

Mayor Park said at a gathering after paying his respects, “I would like to express my deepest condolences and comfort to the victims and their families regarding the recent passenger plane crash at Muan International Airport,” and added, “I hope that this new year will be a year in which all citizens of Cheonan can make a new leap forward with hope.”

He continued, “I will do my best to meet the expectations of the citizens and help Cheonan City develop further,” and pledged, “I will create a warm and hopeful city where everyone can participate.”

Cheonan City has held a New Year’s visit every New Year’s Day to pay respect and express gratitude to the patriotic martyrs and patriots, and has had a time to pledge a new start with citizens. This year, too, they have shown their will to communicate with citizens and develop the local community through this event.

Meanwhile, Mayor Park Sang-don plans to actively implement policies for the sustainable development of Cheonan City and improvement of citizen welfare in 2025 based on the major municipal administration achievements made throughout 2024.
