Gyeyang-gu has once again proven its excellence in the operation of the basic pension system by being selected as an excellent organization for two consecutive years in the basic pension business evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. This evaluation was conducted based on various items such as basic pension application rate, receipt rate, fraudulent receipt recovery rate, and budget execution performance.

Gyeyang-gu is paying basic pensions to approximately 38,300 people (75%) out of 50,748 senior citizens aged 65 or older, recording a high figure far exceeding the national average of 66%. It also achieved this result by receiving high evaluations in various indicators such as budget execution performance rate and application rate for management of desired pension history.

Gyeyang-gu District Mayor Yoon Hwan said, “This achievement is thanks to the dedication of Gyeyang-gu District Office staff and the cooperation of residents,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to contribute to the stability of the elderly’s retirement life through the substantial operation of the basic pension project and to eliminate blind spots in welfare through active promotion.”

Based on the results of this evaluation, the Ministry of Health and Welfare plans to share best practices with local governments across the country to improve the overall level of the basic pension program and enhance the quality of welfare policies for the elderly.
