Incheon Dong-gu announced that it will hold a Jemulpo-gu launch briefing session for residents at the Dong-gu Culture and Sports Center on January 6, 2025. This briefing session was prepared to inform residents about preparations for Jemulpo-gu, which will be launched through the integration of the inland areas of Dong-gu and Jung-gu, and to strengthen the foundation for cooperation with the local community.
About 400 people, including Dong-gu District Mayor Kim Chan-jin, are expected to attend the briefing session, which will be conducted in the form of a report on the preparation status by the former head of the launch preparation department and a Q&A session with residents. The pre-event performance will be the musical <Jemulpo Blues>, which sheds new light on the historical value of Jemulpo.

Kim Chan-jin, the mayor of Dong-gu, said, “The launch of Jemulpo-gu in 2026 is an important opportunity to make a leap forward as the center of Incheon,” and added, “We will proceed with preparations without a hitch.”
