The newly introduced LED signs are characterized by their enhanced crime prevention function beyond simply providing brightness. They emphasize a sanitary image by applying eye-catching colors and a clean design to ensure high visibility even at night. In addition, each restroom is marked with the road name address and exact location information.

In addition, a QR code-based emergency rescue request system has been additionally introduced. When you scan the QR code attached to a public restroom sign or internal partition, the detailed address of the restroom is confirmed, and at the same time, a report text message containing current location information is automatically generated and sent to 112 or 119. This enables rapid reporting and rescue requests in emergency situations.

In addition, all public restroom entrances are equipped with closed-circuit televisions (CCTVs), and emergency bells are provided to request on-site dispatch in the event of an emergency. These safety devices not only prevent crime, but also contribute to enhancing the psychological stability of restroom users.

Gwangjin-gu District Mayor Kim Gyeong-ho said, “Public restrooms are places where many unspecified users visit, so the risk of safety accidents is high and thorough countermeasures are necessary,” adding, “We will establish a tighter safety net to create an environment where anyone can use them with confidence.”

Gwangjin-gu expects that the installation of these LED signs and reinforcement of safety devices will prevent crime and improve the appearance of the city while increasing convenience and trust for residents.
