Lee Sang-il, Mayor of Yongin Special City: “2025, Focus on Resolving Citizen Inconveniences with Administration Close to Daily Life”

Mayor Lee Sang-il of Yongin Special City began his official schedule for the new year of 2025 by visiting the National Cemetery and holding a city inauguration ceremony on the 2nd, and announced, “This year, we will focus more on administration closely related to the lives of citizens in order to resolve inconveniences felt by citizens.” After the city inauguration ceremony, he emphasized communication administration by exchanging New Year’s greetings with employees, directly helping distribute food at the cafeteria, and encouraging employees.

On the morning of the 2nd, Mayor Lee Sang-il of Yongin Special City began the new year of 2025 by offering flowers and incense to the patriotic ancestors and spirits of the fallen soldiers at the Yongin Central Park Memorial Tower in Namdong, Cheoin-gu, along with 90 key local figures and city officials. After paying his respects at the Memorial Tower, he held a ceremony with his employees at the City Hall Ace Hall to announce the start of 2025.

At the inauguration ceremony, Mayor Lee Sang-il expressed his gratitude to his employees, saying, “Thanks to the dedication and passion of our employees, we were able to achieve great results last year.” He continued, “In 2025, I ask that you continue to focus on resolving inconveniences that citizens experience in administrative settings,” emphasizing administration closely related to their daily lives as this year’s key task.

The mayor asked, “Please listen to the voices on the ground and use your observation and imagination to come up with many ideas to improve the inconveniences that citizens experience,” and said, “In February, we will actively listen to opinions on the administration closely related to the lives of each department, bureau, and office.”

After the ceremony, the mayor shook hands with each employee at the entrance of the event venue and greeted them for the New Year. He then went to the 15th floor cafeteria of Yongin City Hall and personally participated in the distribution of yakgwa and sikhye to the employees. The employees expressed their gratitude and welcome for the mayor’s encouragement and communication.

Mayor Lee Sang-il said, “Yongin was able to achieve great results in various fields last year, such as attracting the semiconductor national industrial complex and lifting the Songtan water source protection zone, thanks to the passion of the employees and the cooperation of the citizens,” and added, “Let’s work together this year as well to provide better administrative services to the citizens.”
