Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi of Jungnang-gu visited the ‘Joint Incense Burner for Airline Accident Victims’ set up in the lobby of the first floor of Jungnang-gu Office on the morning of December 31st to pay tribute to the victims, console the bereaved families, and express his deep condolences. Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi visited the joint incense burner with staff including bureau and department heads, and prayed for the souls of the victims by offering flowers and paying silent tribute. The joint incense burner, which has been set up so that any resident can pay their respects, will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. until January 4th of next year.

Mayor Ryu said, “I express my deepest condolences to the victims of the air crash, and I also offer my sincere condolences to the injured and their families.” He continued, “I hope that many residents will join the joint incense-burning altar operated in accordance with the national mourning period and pray for the souls of the victims.”
Meanwhile, Jungnang-gu abruptly canceled the Bonghwasan sunrise event scheduled for January 1st to join the national mourning. All employees are wearing mourning ribbons and the entire district is uniting in remembrance of the victims.
Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “I commemorate the victims of this airline accident and hope that the local community will share in the grief and provide strength to the bereaved families,” adding, “Jungnang-gu will continue to actively empathize with this pain and stand by them.”
