Eunpyeong-gu, 800 books worth 10 million won received as a gift for helping neighbors

Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 19th of last month that it had received 800 books worth approximately 10 million won from the Seoul Shinmun Labor Union and Kim Dae-hyeok, a member of the Eungam 2-dong Resident Autonomy Council.

The Seoul Shinmun Labor Union and Kim Dae-hyeok, a member of the Eungam 2-dong Residents’ Autonomy Association, delivered 800 books to Eunpyeong-gu, asking that they be used to support the Shinsa Children’s Library operated by the Shinsa Integrated Social Welfare Center in the district.

Kim Eung-rok, chairman of the Seoul Shinmun labor union, said, “I am happy that I can deliver many books to my neighbors so that they can read them,” and added, “I will continue to participate in helping and sharing with my neighbors in the future.”

Kim Dae-hyeok, a member of the Eungam 2-dong Residents’ Autonomy Council, said, “I hope that character and warmth will be conveyed to neighbors,” and added, “I will continue to show interest and participate in the future.”

Eunpyeong-gu District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung said, “Thanks to the books delivered, our neighbors using the Shinsa Children’s Library can now use a variety of books, and I am deeply grateful for the warm hearts that have shared them with us.”
