Songpa-gu (Songpa District Mayor Seo Kang-seok) will operate the ‘Songpa Children’s Broadcasting Academy’ from January 6 to 9, 2025 for elementary school students in grades 4 to 6 in the district. Applications for participation will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis from December 23 to 27 on the Songpa Run Education Portal, and a total of 24 people will be recruited.

Songpa-gu provides children with opportunities to experience broadcasting every vacation season, and has operated a total of 24 times over the past 14 years, excluding the COVID-19 pandemic period, with 575 children participating. This winter vacation academy is divided into two sessions, and a vivid broadcasting experience program is held for two hours each day (9:30-11:30).

Participating children will learn broadcasting theory and practice from broadcasting experts such as PDs, writers, and announcers of Songpa TV Station, and can produce actual broadcasting programs through group activities with their peers. On the first day, they will learn the broadcasting preparation process through ▲conversations with announcers ▲animation dubbing ▲idea meetings and news script writing, and on the second day, they will experience actual broadcasting production through ▲outdoor filming ▲studio recording. Outdoor filming will be held at Songpa Book Museum depending on weather conditions.

In particular, the graduation ceremony held on January 17th will be a special event for participating children and their families. They will have time to look back on their activities so far while watching a magic show and a news video produced by the children.

A Songpa-gu official said, “We want to provide children with an opportunity to discover their own skills and talents through broadcasting experiences,” and “We will continue to develop specialized career experience programs so that Songpa-gu children can grow in various fields.”
