Yongin Special City held the ‘5th Lifelong Learning Expo’ on the 16th at the Suji-gu Lifelong Learning Center to share citizens’ passion for learning and spread learning culture. The event featured various experiential lectures, exhibitions, performances, and a lighting ceremony for the Wish Tree, which received a great response from citizens.

Yongin Special City announced on the 17th that it held the ‘5th Lifelong Learning Expo’ at the Yongin Lifelong Learning Center in Pungdeokcheon-dong, Suji-gu on the 16th. This event was organized to spread lifelong learning culture and share learning outcomes among citizens, and even more abundant programs were prepared to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Lifelong Learning Center.
The theme of this year’s fair was ‘From Seeds of Learning to Fruits’, and various events such as celebratory performances, exhibitions, experiential markets, and special lectures followed. In particular, the popular ‘Trend Korea 2025’ special lecture attracted the attention of many citizens.

Mayor Lee Sang-il said in his speech, “I could feel the power and passion of learning while looking at the works of citizens who participated in lifelong learning,” and “Yongin Special City will continue to do its best to support citizens so that they can continue their passion for learning.” He added, “We plan to open a new lifelong learning center at Dongbaek Community Welfare Center in the spring of 2026.”
The market encouraged citizens’ learning achievements by looking around the ‘Adult Literacy Fabric Poetry Exhibition’, ‘Yongin, Memories of the Alley’, and ‘Culture and Arts Lecture’ works displayed at the event venue, and left messages of support in the guestbook.
At the event that day, a wish tree lighting ceremony was also held, where citizens wrote their wishes and hung them on the tree, creating a meaningful time to end the year. In addition, a youth classical band, ‘Kota’, and a local learning group, ‘Cheong-A Ukulele’, performed, receiving a great response from the citizens.
The 5th Lifelong Learning Expo will continue until the 20th. During the event, citizens can view various learning outcomes at the Lifelong Learning Exhibition Hall and participate in experiential activities such as the daily learning market.
