Incheon Dong-gu (District Mayor Kim Chan-jin) announced that it won the grand prize in the economic sector for the ‘Elderly Care Expert Job Platform Project’ at the ‘2024 Comprehensive Evaluation of County and District Administrative Performance’ held in the Incheon City Hall conference room on December 19.
This evaluation is a qualitative evaluation conducted by Incheon City every year to discover and encourage excellent administrative policies that are highly perceived by citizens. Dong-gu achieved the feat of receiving the grand prize by scoring the highest score in the economic sector.
The ‘Elderly Care Specialist Job Platform Project’ is a program that supports the process of obtaining a national nursing care worker license for middle-aged and retired male job seekers and helps systematic job search activities. Dong-gu established a job platform through public-private, academic-research governance, and all 20 trainees obtained nursing care worker licenses, and 14 of them succeeded in finding employment. This proved the possibility of utilizing middle-aged male manpower in the elderly care market.

Mayor Kim Chan-jin said, “I am very pleased to have received the grand prize in the economic category following the 2024 National Job Award,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to create customized jobs that residents can feel the effects.”
This award is highly regarded for the fact that Dong-gu has achieved both welfare and economic revitalization through customized job creation projects that reflect regional characteristics and demands.
