Encouraging public service participation to help local economies recover

Mayor Park said, “The weakening consumer sentiment and cancellation of year-end gatherings due to the impeachment situation are leading to a decrease in sales for self-employed business owners,” and emphasized, “Public officials and related organizations should take the lead in revitalizing year-end consumption with a sense of responsibility to revitalize local commercial districts.”

Accordingly, Cheonan City plans to actively encourage public officials and local organizations to hold year-end gatherings and dinners, thereby revitalizing stagnant local businesses.

Cheonan Love Card Refund Event to Promote Consumption

Cheonan City is holding an 8-day Cheonan Love Card refund event from December 24 to 31 to encourage year-end spending. Cheonan Love Card is an electronic currency that can only be used within the region, and users who pay a certain amount or more during the event period will receive a refund of up to 30,000 won in points.

The refund criteria are as follows:

  • Payment amount 100,000 won or more but less than 200,000 won: 10,000 won refund
  • Payment amount 200,000 won or more but less than 300,000 won: 20,000 won refund
  • Payment amount of 300,000 won or more: 30,000 won refund

The refund points are scheduled to be paid out in January next year, and it is expected that this will increase sales for small business owners and local shops.

Considering the introduction of a prepayment system and promotion of local agricultural product consumption

Cheonan City is reviewing a plan to actively purchase local agricultural and specialty products at its cafeteria and introduce prepayment for purchases of goods and meals to revitalize the local economy. Through this, it plans to support alleviating the economic difficulties of local producers and small business owners.

Mayor Park Sang-don: “I will carefully look into the people’s economy and marginalized neighbors.”

Mayor Park Sang-don said, “Recovering the local economy requires cooperation not only from the public sector but also from all citizens,” adding, “As we approach the end of the year, please actively participate in helping local businesses that are struggling due to the economic crisis, and take good care of the livelihoods of local residents so that no neighbors are left out.”

Cheonan City expects that through this campaign, it will be able to stimulate year-end consumption, increase interest in local commercial districts, and establish a foundation for a sustainable local economy.
