The district set a record for the most in Seoul by operating seven physical education classrooms and five clubs for the hobbyists, and supported a wide range of physical activities for disabled students and adults, including survival swimming programs, boccia, and rafting. In addition, it operated an aquatic exercise program as its own project, contributing to the promotion of health and the activation of leisure activities for the disabled.
In particular, at the ‘2024 Seoul Special City Disabled Sports Festival’ held this year, the team representing Jungnang-gu won the overall championship by recording outstanding results in a total of 19 events.
Ryu Gyeong-gi, the mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “This achievement is thanks to the cooperation of the Jungnang-gu Disabled Sports Association and local residents,” and added, “We will continue to spare no effort in expanding and supporting sports welfare for the health and happiness of the disabled.” With the budget secured based on the results of this evaluation, we plan to operate more abundant sports programs for the disabled.
