Governor Kim Dong-yeon emphasized before the training, “ High-ranking public officials, including myself, must have ( adult ) sensitivity . ” He mentioned the differences between the thoughts of young public officials and the MZ generation and those of some high-ranking public officials, and said , “ If you have any preconceived notions, please put them aside and listen to the lecture with a very humble attitude . ” This was intended to convey the message that we must accept diverse opinions with an open mind, beyond the simple issue of sexual violence , even in the future operation of provincial government .
Governor Kim said, “ I hope this will be an opportunity to reflect with an open mind on other people or people with different thoughts , especially young people and gender issues, not just in relation to simple sexual violence, but also in our future provincial administration . ” This statement reflects the will of Gyeonggi Province to move in a more inclusive and diversity-respecting direction .
In this training, Attorney Jeong-ah Cheon of the law firm Yuhan shared the results of a survey on the status of sexual harassment in the workplace and lectured on the roles of executive public officials . Attorney Cheon explained specific measures to prevent sexual harassment and how public officials can practice gender sensitivity in the workplace . Gyeonggi Province conducted a ‘ Survey on the Status of Sexual Harassment , Sexual Violence, and Stalking in Gyeonggi Province ’ last June , and plans to reflect the results in workplace sexual harassment prevention measures and violence prevention education by 2025 .
Governor Kim Dong-yeon emphasized the importance of adult sensitivity , adding, “ I hope this education is not simply a duty , but an opportunity for all of us to grow together . ” He also insisted that sexual harassment and sexual violence should be recognized as problems for society as a whole , not as individual problems . His words, “ We must solve this problem together, ” resonated deeply with public officials .
A high-ranking official who attended the training that day said, “ I had a lot to think about after hearing Governor Kim’s words, ” and pledged , “ I will place greater importance on and practice adult sensitivity in my future provincial administration . ” Another attendee said, “ I realized once again how important communication with the younger generation is . ”
Governor Kim Dong-yeon emphasized that “ sexual sensitivity is not something that can be simply learned through education , but a value that must be practiced in everyday life, ” and that “ all public officials must internalize this value . ” He added that “ prevention of sexual violence is a prerequisite for the healthy development of our society . ”
This training is significant in that Gyeonggi Province is seriously aware of the issues of sexual harassment and sexual violence and is making efforts to prevent them . Governor Kim said, “ This type of training should be conducted continuously , and it is important for all public officials to have a sense of gender awareness . ”
He emphasized, “ The issue of sexual violence is never an individual problem . It is a problem for our entire society , and all public officials must work together to solve it . ” Governor Kim said, “ Gyeonggi Province will continue to operate various programs to increase awareness of sexuality . ”
Through this training, Gyeonggi Province’s high-ranking officials once again recognized the need for gender sensitivity , and they hope that this will lead to Gyeonggi Province’s policies moving in a direction that is more inclusive and respectful of diversity . Governor Kim Dong-yeon said , “ I hope that this training is not simply a duty , but an opportunity for all of us to grow together . ”
His words, “ We must work together to solve this problem ,” resonated deeply with public officials .
