Yeongdeungpo-gu announced on the 26th that it had won the highest grade, the ‘Grand Prize’, in the ‘2024 Autonomous District Transportation Demand Management Evaluation’ hosted by Seoul Metropolitan Government. This evaluation was conducted on 25 autonomous districts of Seoul with the goal of easing traffic congestion and promoting low-carbon, green transportation, and Yeongdeungpo-gu secured 300 million won in incentives as a result.
This ‘Transportation Demand Management Evaluation’ was conducted through written evaluations and evaluations by the Deliberation Committee on 11 detailed indicators in 4 areas including traffic-induced burden, corporate traffic demand management, traffic demand priority management, and policy promotion. Yeongdeungpo-gu achieved outstanding results in this evaluation and was selected as the only autonomous district to receive the highest grade, ‘Grand Prize.’

In particular, Yeongdeungpo-gu recorded a high collection rate (97.3%) of traffic-induced charges and held various explanatory sessions to encourage active participation in traffic demand management targeting companies. As a result, Yeongdeungpo-gu attracted attention by inducing active participation from 74 companies.
Yeongdeungpo-gu plans to use the tax collection grants it has secured this time to improve public transportation infrastructure, such as enhancing public transportation accessibility and improving bus stop facilities. Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor Choi Ho-kwon said, “This award is thanks to the active participation of residents and businesses,” and added, “We will continue to work to create a young city of Yeongdeungpo where everyone wants to live, with safe and comfortable transportation policies.”
