Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) reviewed the regional security posture and discussed ways to strengthen security for the new year through the ‘2024 4th Quarter Integrated Defense Council’ held at the Eulji Training Ground on the 1st basement floor of the city hall on the 27th. The Integrated Defense Council is held every quarter to strengthen the cooperative system among the civilian, government, military, police, and fire departments for the safety of citizens and national security, and to share national security trends according to the North Korean situation.
This council was attended by Yongin Special City Mayor Lee Sang-il, Yongin Education Support Office Superintendent Kim Hee-jung, Yongin Fire Department Chief Ahn Ki-seung, and other relevant organizations. The meeting reviewed the achievements of integrated defense and major security issues for the year, and the revised bill on the ‘Yongin City Integrated Defense Council and Integrated Defense Support Headquarters Organization and Operation Ordinance’ was deliberated and passed unanimously in accordance with the integrated defense role of the newly opened Yongin West Fire Department.

Mayor Lee Sang-il said, “I would like to thank each organization for contributing to strengthening regional security and protecting the safety of citizens this year,” and emphasized, “Even in the midst of the political turmoil, let’s maintain an integrated defense posture with tight vigilance and strengthen our security capabilities next year to ensure the safety of citizens and the stability of people’s livelihoods.”
Yongin City plans to continue to review national security trends through the Integrated Defense Council and further strengthen the regional security posture through organic cooperation among the civilian, government, military, police, and fire departments.
